Women are often identified only with domestic affairs, so that their role in society is ignored, causing their participation in business activities to be lower than men and women's empowerment is not optimal, including women in Girimekar. This study aims to describe women's empowerment in traditional culinary activities from a Sociological perspective. The method used is a qualitative method with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews with women involved in the traditional culinary sector. The data obtained were analyzed to reveal the impact of women's empowerment in traditional culinary activities. The results of the study show that traditional culinary activities reflect local wisdom that is combined with social values and natural beauty. Women's participation in producing traditional food strengthens social ties, preserves traditions, and contributes to the community's economy. Women's empowerment in traditional culinary includes economic, social, and cultural aspects. Women not only develop cooking skills, but also play an important role in the family economy, as well as preserving the traditional culinary cultural heritage. This women's empowerment reflects a social phenomenon involving gender roles, cultural norms, and social networks. Women act as preservers of tradition as well as agents of change that improve family welfare and support the development of culinary businesses. Women's empowerment in Girimekar needs to be strengthened through better access to capital, education, technology, and ongoing training.
